Yorkville police officer Delaney, also named as Officer of the Year by the Oswegoland Optimist Club in 1999, was caught stealing drugs from the department’s drug collection program. The drugs were narcotic painkillers hydrocodone which are government property. The regular punishment is one to three years in prison and a fine up to $25,000 or even probation, but Delaney got out after one night at the station and paid only $2,500, but he is no longer a Yorkville police officer.
Good thing was that he confessed and was cooperative during the arrest when they found more than 200 grams pills on him. Yorkville police is ending the collection program for unwanted medications.
